This year, Akanksha celebrated Mahatma Ghandi’s birthday with The Social Leadership Program’s annual Come Alive event. Each year, Come Alive brings together people from all over the city and every walk of life to participate in an activity that brings them alive. This year, activities included art, sports, dance, and cooking. Participants visited homes for the elderly or for children with illnesses or homes for stray animals. They watched movies about social justice issues or performed random acts of kindness. The feedback from the event has been overwhelmingly positive. Here is some of what they have to say:

“Coming here, spending time with elderly people made me value every moment of joy I experienced in life. The smile and laughter seen on their face was worth it!” – Priyanka R

“I just wanted to let you know that what you are doing is absolutely great. I will forever be proud to have taken part in this event. Thank you so much for enriching my life with this experience. I will be so much more ALIVE! P.S – I am definitely in for your future events. Our leader (Naheeda) was fabulous! I am very pleased!!” – Shikha P

“This is different from our day to day lives; events like this definitely rejuvenate us and help us come alive. Was a part of the Bachcha Party group. All I can say is this memory will definitely be with me always.” – Rohan G
