Naheeda Ansari


Currently the Assistant School Leader at Shindewadi Mumbai Public School, she envisions and strives to build a school where every stakeholder takes the ownership of driving the vision of creating a rigorous and joyful learning experience for children.

Naheeda has graduated in sociology and education. She has completed her diploma in early childhood care and education and elementary education. She is pursuing her masters in education.

Naheeda believes that every child deserves an excellent education and this will happen only if there are passionate teachers who take ownership of bringing that quality education in the school by keeping student's emotional and social well being needs in place .

She also believes that parents play an important role by bridging the gap between school and community hence it's imminent to build a strong partnership with parents. Naheeda envisions a school where every stakeholder takes the ownership of driving the vision of creating a rigorous and joyful learning experience for children.

Eakata Chakraborty


Eakata joined Akanksha in 2015 after finishing her degree in management. Though she thought her real calling was a research fellowship on tourism, the passion of education walked in with a bunch of children who she assisted in studies after-school. Thus grew the passion to understand young minds, learn and evolve.
After joining Akanksha her resolve to strengthen our education system grew manifold.

She joined the Akanksha Leadership Academy in 2018. In the internship phase, where she had to understand others as well as work on the school goals was her biggest challenge.

She is happy that she could implement ideas that encouraged collaboration and fostered independence in the school.

She envisions a school where children learn from each other and work in collaboration to become independent individuals.

Sakshi Bhatia


Currently the School Leader of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation School, Sakshi is working towards creating an army of teachers that drive excellence in her classrooms each day.

Sakshi joined the Teach for India fellowship after completing her Masters in English. Driven towards working in the education space, post her fellowship, she worked in curriculum designing that is progressive in nature. She then joined the School Leadership Academy to learn to create and drive a visionary school.

She believes that teachers are the backbone of a school. The current education system requires independent and self motivated teachers who believe in providing excellent education to the students. With her belief that teachers are not born great but made great, she is working towards creating an army of teachers that drive excellence in her classrooms each day.

Sakshi loves singing and cooking. Both of these work as a therapy for her whenever she feels low. She is also passionate about Urdu literature and Indian Mythological fiction.

Tarishi Garg


Currently, working as an Assistant School Leader in Pujya Kasturbha Gandhi English Medium School, Tarishi is bringing her vision alive in the school by building learning mindsets.

After completing her graduation in engineering, Tarishi worked as a software engineer in the corporate sector. While working she was volunteering with an NGO.

Soon she applied for Teach for India Fellowship. After working for two years with Teach for India, she realized she should explore beyond classrooms to bring more learning into her way which led her to join the School Leadership Academy.

Currently, she is working with an Akanksha school in Pune in the leadership role. She is bringing her vision alive in the school by building learning mindsets.

She loves cycling, trekking, reading and socializing.
She believes that we are made up of all the decisions we make and our experiences in life.

Priyanka Gambhir


Priyanka pursued her graduation in biotechnology. During her graduation, she was a part of a society called Savera (an evening School for underprivileged children) where she used to teach every day after her college. Post which she joined the Teach For India fellowship where she understood the need to work towards an excellent education for all children.

Post the fellowship, she joined the Leadership Academy. In this year, she worked to enhance her skills to be a leader and also derived her vision for a school. She believes in creating a school where students will have a balance between mind and heart so that they can face all the challenges in their life with love, compassion, and wisdom. She believes that it is very important to create a school where every individual including the school staff is compassionate and dedicated towards achieving the vision of the school.
