Neha graduated from Akanksha’s LTL center in 2011. Currently she is part of Akanksha’s Service Learning Program and is pursuing her Junior College (Arts) from Sophia College, Mumbai. Neha has a vision to build a school for children in her village in Bihar. To work on this dream of hers, she is pursuing her SLP internship with Banyan Roots, Udaipur (Rajasthan) in the space of community mobilization where she will explore the rural challenges and opportunities.
Akash graduated from Akanksha’s LTL center in 2011. Currently he is part of Akanksha’s Service Learning Program and is pursuing his junior college (Commerce) from Siddharth College, Mumbai. Akash was moved by the pathos of children in labor when he watched “Children of the Pyre” at one of the SLP sessions. He feels he should do something about it and as part of SLP’s summer internship, he is working with Pratham Council of Vulnerable Children (PCVC), Mumbai to understand the issue better.
Balram Sahani graduated from Akanksha in 2009. He is currently pursuing his TY BCom from St Xaviers College. To finance his studies he was working as an accounts assistant in Bharat Electronics Ltd. He is an example of self-belief and determination. He had a speech problem and to overcome that he went to a speech therapist on his own and tried to overcome the problem.
