Umesh Bhagwan Kasbe, 9

 

Umesh Bhagwan Kasbe, 9, goes to Jannabai Madhav Rao Rokde School and is in the 4th standard. He has been with Akanksha for the past two years.

Umesh comes from the P D’mello community. At home, he lives with his grandmother, mother and three siblings. His grandmother does the cooking and his mother goes to office.

Sahana Didi says Umesh understands very well what is right and wrong and can differentiate bad and good behavior. He enjoys coming to class and has a good time here.

His favourite day at Akanksha has been when Didi took them to see “Chutkan Ki Chachi”. The movie was enjoyable, but it was his best day because he got a gift – an eraser and a star also for good behavior. “I behave nice and not trouble Didi that day, said Umesh.”
Parveen Madar Sheikh, 9


Parveen Madar Sheikh, 9, attends Mody Street Muncipal School and is in standard 4. She is a part of the Drama program. She has been a part of Akanksha for 4 years now.

Parveen comes from the P D’mello community. At home she lives with her mother, father, two younger sisters and an older brother. Her father is a driver and mother is a housewife.

Sahana Didi says that her mother is extremely supportive of her education. She wants her girls to not only study but also to perform well. She loves coming to class and has a good time.

She really enjoyed watching the movie “Chutkan Ki Chachi” She also knows now not to cheat. She always wants to speak in English now and tries not to speak in Hindi with her friends.
