Our Goals for our children are:

  1. Building self-esteem and good values
  2. Knowledge of the entire English alphabet and the ability to construct simple sentences in English.
  3. Basic arithmetic abilities

Didis say:
Our kids have learned most of the alphabet, can say simple sentences in English and do basic counting

Children say:
"I know how to add and subtract. I do very fast writing 1 to 100 and I know A says and B says. I like reading, writing and doing the today chart in the assembly. I like my yellow t-shirt and I keep it very clean." – Vikas, 6

Vikas Gupta, 6

 

Vikas Gupta, 6, goes to Taraben Master English Primary School and is in the 2nd standard. He has been in Akanksha for 7 months.

Vikas’ family lives in Khar Danda and comprises of his parents and two sisters.

Didi says that Vikas is very smart, understands instructions and comes up with new words.
He is very confident, does not hit anyone but tends to talk a lot! He is very regular and enjoys doing his work in class. Vikas’ proudest moment, “On my birthday, I cut a cake and gave chocolates to all the children, I felt very good.”

Vikas wants to become a policeman.

 



Sarita Babelal Pun, 7


Sarita Babelal Pun
, 7, goes to Taraben Master English Primary School and is in the 2nd standard. She has been in Akanksha for 7 months.

Sarita’s family lives in Khar Danda and comprises of her parents and a younger sister. Her father is a spot boy in films.

Didi says that Sarita’s English is strong. She is confident and understands the difference between right and wrong.

Sarita says, ‘I like Akanksha because Didi is very nice. She loves us and never beats us. She always smile. In my school they hit children.’ – Sarita, 5
