This is our center song:

The guiding light

This little guiding light of mine.
I am going to make it shine
Make it shine all the time...
Make it shine....
Hide it under a cover Oh No!
I am going to make it shine
Make it shine all the time...
Shine all over Akanksha
I am going to make it shine...
Shine it all over the world
I am going to make it shine...
Make it shine all the time
Make it shine...

Our center’s goals are:

  • Speak English
  • Be responsible
  • Share
  • Good time

Here is a glimpse what we learn:
  • Word families
  • Addition and subtraction
  • Time
  • Grammar
  • Sentences
  • Math

Our favorite thinking question is:

“A stranger calls you to his house promising you a chocolate, will you go? Why?”

“I’ll take the chocolate and run away!”

Programs and Special Events:

  1. Musical Event
  2. Sports Day
  3. Graduation Day

Nazia Sheikh

Nazia is a level 2 student, and has been with Akanksha for two years. Her mother is a domestic helper and her father works in a welding workshop. She participated on Graduation Day and is a part of the Sports program. She was also a part of our “Pune event”. She has already speaking in English and has excellent handwriting. She also has a good understanding of values. She makes beautiful lamps and cards.

Ranjana Prasad

Ranjana is a very honest student who never forgets to write her good-deed diary. Sometimes she may peep into another child’s book during dictation but then she readily admits it and usually tries to do her work. Her mother works as a domestic helper and her father works in a factory workshop. Her honesty is truly amazing and touching. When asked a thinking question like “What gift do you want from your mother?” Her answer was “No gift, only love.”
