Our Goals for the children:

  1. Knowledge of the entire English alphabet and the ability to construct and understand simple sentences in English
  2. Self-respect
  3. Respect to adults and teachers


 











Nikita Raju More, 7



Nikita Raju More: is 7 years old, goes to Laxminagar School and is in the 2nd standard. She is in level 1 at the Laxminagar center and has recently joined Akanksha.

Nikita lives in the Garden Rd community in Bandra. She lives with her grandmother and younger sister. Her parents stay in the village a lot and her father is watchman.

Nikita prefers Akanksha to her formal school because they teach English and the Didi is better at Akanksha. She enjoys drawing, especially because she doesn’t get to do it very often. She loves to make drawings of the sun and then colour in it. She helped one time with the washing of clothes at home and is proud of that.


 


Ajay Ashok Pawar, 6



Ajay Ashok Pawar: is 7 years old, goes to Laxminagar School and is in the 2nd standard. He is in level 1 at the Laxminagar center and has recently joined Akanksha.

Ajay lives in Gandhijinagar community, which is in Kurla. He lives with her parents and older brother. His father works in an office, his mother is a domestic helper at someone’s house and his brother sells paintings that he makes.

He prefers Akanksha to his formal school because the classroom for Akanksha is better. He enjoys drawing, especially houses. He wants to grow up and become a policeman so he can catch all the thieves.
