Sushmita Arjun Gawre, 8, goes
to Sitaram Poddar School and is in
class 1. She has been with Akanksha
for a year now.
Sushmita lives in the Ambedkar Nagar
community. She lives with her parents
and sister. Her mother is a housewife
and her father goes to work.
Deepshika Didi says that she is an
“extremely intelligent child
with a pleasing personality.”
She puts in a lot of effort to improve
her spoken English. She enjoys herself
in class and likes coming to Akanksha.
Sushmita prefers Akanksha to her
regular school because she likes the
Didi. She says she teaches well and
class is more fun. She enjoys doing
Math. She also likes it when Didi
gives her responsibility like sharpening
the pencils etc. She likes playing
games like Hide-and-Seek and Catch
and Cook with her sister. She dreams
of becoming a Doctor some day, and
her mother is very supportive of this.
