Our community
There is dirt, smell, people spit, people do toilet on the road, Public bathrooms are dirty when it rains dirty there is water in the houses, The people are little helpful and some know to read and write Marathi on Ganesh chaturdashi they put madal where everyone comes.

 




Vijay

 


Vijay lives in Patil Estate. He is in level 2. He lives with his parents and brother. Her mother works in different houses washing clothes and vessels. She is a very responsible lady. His father does not have a stable job. He drinks very often and the children and his wife are faced with domestic violence. Vijay tends to become a disruptive child, since he is the one who brings alcohol for his father and seeing violence at home also affects him. However, Vijay daily comes to the center and sees to it that his brother Raju comes in too. He has also shown a change in his learning. His mother takes great interest in her children’s learning at school.



Shahrukh


Shahrukh is in level 3. When he joined Akanksha our helper Lata Maushi and our social worker Santosh bhaiya had to go daily to his house to bring him to the center. But after talking to his mother a very responsible lady, she saw to it that he came to the center. He has shown interest in learning and he has become responsible. He minds the class when one of the didis has to leave and go to the other class to teach.

She took part in ‘Sunshine Stars’. Despite having high fever she came for all the shows and performed on stage in front of a big audience. With time, she shows progress and increased confidence.
