Art for Akanksha Auctions

The Akanksha Auctions are an opportunity for the Akanksha children to work with eminent contemporary Indian artists to co-create art that is then auctioned by Christies. The first three art auctions in Mumbai (2001-3) featured works by Anjolie Ela Menon, Arzaan Khambatta, Samir Mondal, Sunil Padwal and many others. ‘Anjali for Akanksha’ (2004), Akanksha’s largest event in New York City, combined a yoga performance by Sharmila Desai with original music composed by the Fresch-Algerian DJ Cheb I Sabbah with the art auction by Christies.
