Gone by
Kabir and
the Rangeen Kurta
For the third consecutive year, the Akanksha
children brought to the city of Mumbai another musical, 'Kabir
and the Rangeen Kurta' (2005). With 150 children participating
and many more working on its production, this musical, sent
out a strong message - the power of dreams and the courage
it takes to make them come true.
Here's what the audience had to say:
Outstanding! Wooh! You guys
rocked the show!! What are you'll waiting for
grab a
plane and fly to the Big Apple
Broadway awaits you!!
- Rooshabh
There are many of us like Kabir who
chase our dream but after watching this atleast I learnt to
fulfill them and help others and thank you for helping me
- Meena
I have seen hundreds of plays in
the last about twenty five years, many plays have been very
good, very talented actors and good scripts. But none of them
have made me feel as good as I felt today. I am extremely
pleased about being here today

Anuradha and I were filled with hope
and enthusiasm for the future after attending a show of Akanksha's
new musical 'Kabir...'
I come from a hard nosed business world, where everyday I
face overseas investors who express doubts about India's future,
and particularly about Mumbai's future given the overwhelming
poverty and the stifling slums. I wish 'Kabir' was on all
year, because I'd send every pessimist about India and Mumbai
to see it. They would emerge, as we did, full of the extraordinary
promise of India's young people, enable and supported as they
are by Akanksha's extraordinary team.
