The Mumbai Marathon 2005

The Mumbai Marathon was an opportunity for the whole Akanksha team to run together in support of Akanksha. The 2005 Marathon saw 275 Akanksha students, 100 teachers and staff and over 700 other supporters run in bright green “Run for Akanksha” t-shirts.

Here’s what the Akanksha kids said:

Kalpesh, 13,
“ I am in the marathon to show the world that I am running.”

Prashant, 19
“I am running to encourage others to run so that it changes lives of children like me.”

Neel, 16
“I am running to promote the cause of education. I saw handicapped people running last year and if they can, I can.”
