Once Upon a Time in Shantipur

'Once Upon a Time in Shantipur' (2004) inspired by Fiddler on the Roof, had over 100 Akanksha children involved in every aspect of producing a show.  The story traced Mr. Hussein’s struggles with one daughter after another, each questioning a different aspect of tradition. The message – unity, diversity and change.

Here’s what the audience had to say:

I thought the musical was brilliant, awesome, splendiferous (as tigger would put it).
-Charuta Srinivasan

Amazing confidence was displayed by all the children. Abbu and Jaggu were amazing. Enjoyed the dance sequence. India is truly shining!
-Namita Velkar

Excellent and mind blowing. Its just the beginning for the new world especially for the children. Lets be together and forget the past and live in today’s and coming tomorrow’s world

I don’t want to see any movie or anything, only Akanksha shows! I loved it! I have seen every show
