Special Education Associate
The Special Ed Associate is responsible for assisting the teachers in identifying and working with struggling learners in their classes.
Developing the individualized plans
- Visiting different classes to identify the struggling learners
- Creating and document the cases that have been identified
- Creating individualized plans for the identified students and review them on monthly basis
Training
- Working closely with the teachers and volunteers to help them work with the struggling students
- Training the teachers and volunteers on implementation of the plans
Community engagement
- Working with the parents of these kids in order to help them at home
- Working with social workers for information on struggling learners
- Identifying and working with other organizations/resource people who can help
Required qualifications and skills:
- B.Ed. or B.S.Ed from a recognized university
- Prior teaching experience preferred
- Commitment to the cause
- Willingness to travel across Mumbai centres
- Fluent in English
- Positive attitude and solution oriented
