WHAT: Joy of Giving Week 2011
WHERE: PVR Cinemas at High Street Phoenix
WHEN: October 2nd – 8th | 11am to 8pm
This year, Akanksha is proud to partner with renowned sculptor Arzan Khambata to create a large-scale installation at High Street Pheonix, Lower Parel. Arzan has designed a brilliant, interactive art workshop for children and adults alike, and we believe the installation will provide a fun and interactive activity for anyone who happens to walk by during the week. This activity will be entirely managed by Akanksha students and alumni. Arzan will visit the venue at specific times to interact with those who visit our installation.
This installation will involve the public in an activity and will allow people to take home a memento that encapsulates the Akanksha mission. Moreover, in working with a renowned sculptor and creating an installation that includes artistic elements, Akanksha will showcase how important art is for the organization. This installation serves as a perfect means of highlighting all aspects of Akanksha’s work in an interactive and fun way.
Akanksha is so excited to put together this project, because it truly aligns with the vision of Joy of Giving Week. Participants have the opportunity to interact with Akanksha students and alumni in a lighthearted and exciting setting. Not only will they be able to take home a piece of this interactive exhibit that relates to education, but in participating in such a unique and engaging activity, they will remember their experience for a long time to come. Akanksha will highlight the urgency and necessity of increasing quality educational opportunities for all children, while demonstrating that giving can be an enjoyable experience—not some sort of obligation.
