The July 26th Mumbai flood was another opportunity to use Akanksha's network of supporters and donors to channel much needed relief to the affected communities. Although all the communities Akanksha works in were spared the brunt of the floods, Akanksha still needed to reach out to other affected people.

Akanksha's relief work matched donors with people in need. Within a week, Akanksha had distributed thousands of crates of water, medicines and food rations to the government, church relief centers and other NGOs. Akanksha also initiated a huge notebook drive of over 60,000 notebooks for children who had lost notebooks and other school supplies in the floods.
