Akanksha has 86 professional teachers
and 53 full time staff including a management team of
13 individuals who are responsible for education, social
work, human resources, art/ public relations, finance
and the beyond school departments.
Here are some thoughts from Akanksha children, staff
and teachers.
Respect and trust were new
words for me. But in Akanksha these words became special
to me.
Varsha
In my life my teachers are
important because without them I would not study, I
would not learn anything. I would not get any information
about anything.
Ravi
My teachers are important in
my life because they teach me how to behave, how to
face our problems, be brave, they give me lots of love,
show me the right path and make me educated. They save
me from being uneducated.
Kavita
When all the boys do not listen
to Anjali Didi then she is became very livid and says,
"this is absurd".
Shehnaz
To win someone's heart is very
difficult so for that we should have Didi's and Sir's
who teach us values and respect.
Neeta
Akanksha makes me believe that
every individual has the potential for greatness if
only we make the effort to help them discover it.
Priya Didi
Akanksha is an organised, loving
workplace which maintains very high standards of imparting
education to the children who have fewer opportunities.
I' ve learnt that a highly unstructured target audience
can be taught in a very structured way. Although I'm
accountable for my work, I'm not bound by it, thus leaving
me free to be creative and perhaps more productive.
I love the effort and thinking that has gone into creating
an awe - inspiring organization with a team of like
minded people and able leadership.
Shalaka Didi
For me Akanksha stands for
self-respect and personal growth.
Anita Didi
At Akanksha I have learnt to
never give up and with every hurdle that I face, I have
grown.
Kanchan Didi
Akanksha is like second home
to me
Ritika Didi
Akanksha is a canvas for us
to paint our dreams on
Amita Didi
Akanksha is a place where I
can be myself!
Karishma Didi
A place where teaching is as
much fun as learning. Akanksha is more a way of life
for me than just a job.
Mahalaxmi Didi
Where dreams come true, where
our kids never cease to surprise me, where I do things
not because I have to but because I want to and hence
receive much more than I give.
Reeves Bhaiya
AKANKSHA in true sense means "COLOURS" to
me.
Not just the colours I see in the drawings of children,
but the colours hidden within each one of us. Akanksha
means discovering these colours within.
Sheetal Didi
Akanksha's depth of involvement
in the life of every child is truly unique. Rarely does
one see such a commitment in any vendor-client relationship.
Sriram Bhaiya
Akanksha has really helped
me trap a lot of hidden potential and helped me get
over many of my inhibitions. I have met the most creative,
talented, intellectual, warm, sensitive, helpful people
who have taught me how to work hard without complaining,
taught me sensitivity, and passion for work.
Niki Didi
Akanksha is a place where magic,
beliefs and dreams meet according to me.
Rajshree Didi
Akanksha is no longer restricted
to the teaching process in a classroom, but
has elevated itself to the process of overall development
of the child - to
become confident, self-reliant and capable of dreaming
of a better tomorrow.
Anita Didi
I have learnt how a small effort
from our side can
make a big difference in others' lives. I have learnt
how the world is so much more than the
four walls of our own self.
Deba Didi
Akanksha means endless opportunites
for me to change myself. And by changing myself, I can
hope to change the person next to me.
Rachna Didi
Akanksha is about a process
of improving ourselves, our students, our relationship
with people and spreading hope to India through positive
action.
