Akanksha attracts, trains and retains diverse individuals to teach at Akanksha. Teachers go through a one-month induction program in classroom instruction and service. All Akanksha teachers have in-service training for the duration of their time at Akanksha. Training topics include classroom management, teaching language and math, setting goals and planning a timetable, and songs and stories. The Akanksha staff goes on an annual service and goal-setting retreat. All of Akanksha’s curricula and programs have been made into easy-to-use manuals which Akanksha is happy to share.
