Volunteer

Volunteers are an integral part of Akanksha classrooms in both schools and centers. They aid teachers in maintaining class order and assisting teachers with differentiated learning strategies. More than this, they become role models and friends to all Akanksha students, often times finding themselves becoming more and more involved with Akanksha as the years progress.

Akanksha also welcomes volunteers and interns to work in various departments, including Fundraising, Marketing, Impact, and HR. If you have a specific skill set or interest in data analysis, graphic design, social media, etc., please contact our office to find out how you might be able to be part of the organization.

If you are coming from outside of India and interested in working with an NGO in the sphere of education, please contact Archana at archana.gandhi@akanksha.org to find out more about volunteer opportunities with Akanksha. Past international volunteers have help poetry workshops, prepared impact reports, and created social media strategy. Please note, a volunteer visa is a requirement for volunteering with Akanksha.

Akanksha has been a turning point in my life. I have become more patient and empathetic towards people, especially children. I have learnt that giving qualitative inputs is more gratifying than giving financial help. Albeit it’s challenging but that’s what makes it more exciting. Each day I am learning something new, some positive value, and recognizing great potential. While I am trying to make a difference in children’s lives, the children and the experience are making a difference in my life.
